Kanto Tactics Arena beginner guide: your first three rounds
Learn your first purchases, board placement, three-copy evolution and early economy with a short route through the tutorial and campaign.
Learn to play →Round one: buy, then place
In Kanto Tactics Arena, tap a cheap shop card to buy it, select it on the bench and tap a tile on your half. Your level limits how many creatures can fight. The first quick-match timer waits until you place a creature; the board explains this waiting state. Start the three-round tutorial for guided practice.
Round two: build around what the shop gives you
Put a durable creature in the first row and a ranged attacker at the back. Three identical one-star copies merge automatically into two stars; three two-star copies merge into three stars. Do not sell your frontline merely to collect another type. Bench creatures do not activate synergies.
Round three: spend with a reason
A normal refresh costs 2 gold and buying 4 XP costs 4 gold. Holding 10 or 20 gold gives 1 or 2 interest, subject to the mode cap. Spend to complete an upgrade, field another creature or stop heavy losses. Endless blessings can change refresh and XP costs; check the displayed price.
Where to practise next
Campaign preparation has no countdown, so it is useful for learning placement and items. Quick Match pits you against seven AI rivals; the ladder is local. Try a six-unit formation in the team builder, then adapt to actual shop offers rather than expecting every planned creature to appear.
